Its fully enclosed, high-torque, fan-cooled, 1-1/2-horsepower, 120-volt Baldor electric motor rotates at a speed of 3,450 RPM and provides a 20-inch length of cut (14 inches diagonally) as well as a full 3-inch depth of cut.
The Baldor motor also features permanently lubricated, dual-sealed, heavy-duty blade-shaft bearings, and a chrome-plated guide bar for reliable, precise performance tile after tile.

The MK-101 features a built-in water distribution system which supplies water on both sides of the blade for smooth, precise cuts. For project flexibility, the multi-position, motor post and cutting head are adjustable for tile sizes up to 20 inches, while the variable-height, cutting head allows for plunge cuts. This head also permits the use of diamond blades less than 10 inches in diameter and accommodates 6-inch and 8-inch profile wheels.
Finally, the micro V-belt drive ensures powerful service, and the blade shaft locks for easy blade removal.

I recently bought a used MK101... It's a fantastic saw. I've been cutting limestone, ceramic tile, even a brick or two just to see how it handles it, and everything comes out great. I bought a bullnose roundover blade and have just finished installing 65 feet of limestone bullnose I cut and then shaped on the saw.
When I first got the saw I had some alignment problems, clearly the former owner hadn't touched it for years. I went to their website and used the chat feature to send a message (the chat isn't manned on weekends.. but I figured I would get an answer on Monday.) Much to my surprise I got an email an hour later from a vice president at MK Diamond who must have been replying from his Blackberry. We sorted out the problems in a sequence of emails.
