Tools and Hardware Reviews of MK Diamond 153330 MK-660K 3/4 Horsepower 7-Inch Wet Tile SawCustomer Review: Precise for the Price Summary: 5 Stars
ok..here we go, first review ive' ever writen so bare with me. So much to cover here, im' gonna start off with a much simpler way of rating, much like that "magazine" does for consumers. 1. construction-outstanding 2. precision cuts-outstanding 3. noise level-i was amazed!! 4. accessories-you get it all.(i upgraded on the blade) 5. packaging-outstanding as well. 6. price-i've shop around and around. no sales tax/shipping..duh. 7. set up-if you can set tile, you should'nt have a prob. Now, after receiving my new MK i was so excited, yeah you know the feeling, "i have one you don't" feeling..hahaa..anyways i openned up the box read a little and started the assembly process. very simple (15mins). as i assembled i also did the "inpection" thing (know also as the QA inpection) i was so impressed with the quality/materials used by MK. Everything from the welds/paint job were outstanding. IF i were building my very own from scratch, id use the same!! im' no professional tile setter, fact is work behind a desk, my background is working with very precise equipment such as 1/4 million HP gas turbines engines and repairs on Nuc powered submarines. Infact after assembly of my new MK i pulled out the "dial indictor" JUST to take a few run out readings for my own peace of mind. I do all major types of home repairs. Most of my clients are my own CoWorkers, so my reputation is much on the line for quality work. A couple of notes here are, if you have large hands, the distance between the bottom of the motor housing gets pretty tight when running the tile thru, also when cutting in from one direction into the other (a 90'notch out) cutting is limited, for large cut outs you'll have to lift (right/left) the sliding table to get a little more depth. the electrical cords have a "support" thats attached to the housing, you wont' get the "insulation breakage" on these cords anytime soon. you also get the "goodies" various fences and wrenches, all you're missing is a tile job!! Now a couple of thing that i would improve on are the "rail bearings" (brass sleeves), the table has a few thousands "play" side/side.i believe the tolerances could be tighter.and the water "tub" i'd add a few more mils to the plastic. i put my new saw to the test yesterday at "picky" coworkers' home. it performed just like i expected for the price, A MUST BUY.***** hope you enjoy your new saw as well.
